On our summer holiday, we stayed a pretty place in the Italian Lakes region for a few nights. On our stroll into town each night for dinner, we would walk past this little courtyard with a statue of Mary in it. I’m thinking people might pray there or something.

How Not to Visit Keukenhof Gardens from Amsterdam
Have you ever heard of a place called Keukenhof Gardens? Well, basically, it’s a world famous botanical park on the outskirts of Amsterdam, and everybody goes berserk for it. It only opens for a couple months each spring and treats all who grace its grounds to a sprawling bouquet of the most creative and colorful …

Travelly Picture: Church in Reichenau, Switzerland
On our way to Italy last week we managed to get ourselves turned around with directions more than a couple times. On one such occasion just south of Chur, Switzerland (where we had spent the night), we spent the better part of 20 minutes touring the side road of the highway we were supposed to …

What’s That Brighton, England Like?
Back in April of this year we spent a couple nights in a place called Brighton, England. Brighton sits on the southeast coast of England, about an hour train ride straight south from a very famous place called London. As is typical nowadays, I didn’t do too much research before heading to Brighton. So, besides …
Travelly Picture: West Side Market, Cleveland, Ohio
When we were in Cleveland for a minute last year (which I will be writing more about soon), we spent some time perusing the stalls of the West Side Market on recommendation from friends. It’s a gorgeous and enthralling market and as far as I am concerned, can hold its own with any indoor market anywhere …

Travelly Picture: Sunbeam on Sarajevo
Sarajevo, Bosnia is easily one my favorite places in all of Europe. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind town and we were lucky enough to stay at a guesthouse up in the enchanting hills surrounding Sarajevo when we were there. We made it a point to spend our afternoons watching the sun set over Sarajevo listening to …
Travelly Picture: Turia Fountain in Valencia, Spain
Valencia had been very high on my list for years before we arrived for a couple nights a couple years ago. The word on the street was that it was “laid back and chill” compared to its famous Catalan neighbor Barcelona, and that’s definitely true. It’s funny, because when we look back at our travels, …

Travelly Picture: Amsterdam Canal Sunset
Took this picture with my digital camera the other night. We were out having dinner and drinks and as we approached a canal bridge, I noticed a couple people whipping out their cameras and clicking away at the sunset. I figured “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em”. Oh yeah, if you click on it, …
Travelly Picture: Melaka, Malaysia
We spent a few weeks in the culturally rich town of Melaka, Malaysia, and this was the view from the back of our guesthouse. I took this picture with my digital camera one calm morning. Great town, you should go there on the double. Oh yeah, if you click on it, I think it get’s …
