Scott is joined by Lukáš Vondra, founder of Prague Beer Guides, to talk about the beer culture in the Czech capital and some of the best off-the-beaten-path things to do and see in the city. Lukáš also talks about what it’s like guiding visitors around Prague and recommends some of his favorite pubs.
A few things that came up on the show:
Prague Railway Station – don’t skip the Art Noveau upstairs!
Prague Metro System – famous for colorful tiles!
Vinohrady neighborhood – great architecture a little out of the hustle and bustle of the Old Town
Miss Sophie’s Prague – cute hotel I have stayed at every time I’ve been in Prague.
The Petřín Tower – mini Eiffel Tower with great views over the city
Vyšehrad Fortress – cool sight south of the Old Town
‘Drowning Man’ Sausage – essential bar bite
Hermelin – marinated cheese popular at pubs in Prague
U Pinkasu – oldest pilsner pub in Prague, famous for great outdoor drinking spaces
Pivovarská Nalévárna – small pub by the Hostomicka Brewery, you might just run into Lukáš here
Letna Beer Garden – beer garden with view over the city
Café Lajka – one of Lukáš’ favorite craft beer breweries/cafes in the city.
